Around the world, as a consequence of the Internet, people are coming together to solve problems large and small and share knowledge in new ways. We can have “boots on the ground” insight quickly and share data widely. In government, media, health, and commerce crowd sourcing is becoming common place. The term crowdsourcing (the use of many people to accomplish a task) was born in an article by Jeff Howe in Wired in 2006.
With NextDev we hope to bring the power of crowd sourcing to one of education’s greatest challenges: Developmental Education. I have posted part of a short video from http://www.crowdsourcing.org/ that helps describe the concept.
